Stavroula "Stella" Panagoulopoulos death announcement


Stavroula Stella (Hatsiopoulos) Panagoulopoulos, 62, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of George Panagoulopoulos. Born Oct. 15, 1948, in Korifi Kozani, Greece, she was the daughter of Victoria (Gouras) Hatsiopoulos of Brockton and the late George Hatsiopoulos. Stella was a retired bookkeeper and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 21 years. She was a member of the Philoptochos Society, Pan Macedonian Association, Daughters of Olympia and the Pan-Eliakos Society of New England. She is survived by her husband, George Panagoulopoulos of Brockton; her children, Basil Panagoulopoulos and his wife Lucy of Rhode Island, Christine Veiga and her husband JP of Brockton and Victoria Panagoulopoulos of Brockton; her grandchildren, Adriana, Gabriella, Georgina, Nicholas and Anthony; her mother, Victoria (Gouras) Hatsiopoulos; her brother, Anastasios Tasho Hatsiopoulos and his wife Diane of Brockton; her sister, Evagelia Kollias and her husband Theodore of Greece; her sisters-in-law, Sophia and George Sgourakes of Millis, Katina Mouyos of Millis and Maria Panagoulopoulos of Greece. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Donations may be made in Stella's memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
